Wong Fu Productions first began in June 2003 on the campus of UC San Diego. At that time, Philip Wang was still a freshman at UC San Diego, and he along with some of his roommates made their first amateur music video. Proud of thier little accomplishment, the video was put online to share with friends. What happened after was never expected...
In late 2004, Wong Fu Productions gained new help and fresh ideas from friends Wesley Chan, Ted Fu, and Naho Minato. Along with crucial help from childhood friend, Allen Liu, Wong Fu Productions was able to progress to anotehr level of video making. That same level of progression has never stopped.
Over the years Wong Fu Productions have evolved from a group of college dormmates and friends to a few boys driven to succeed. It
is now a growing independent production company with thousands of hits to their website from all over the world each day. With a fanbase of millions across the US and globe, they work fulltime creating online content, designing for their tshirt brand, and producing with other companies and artists. As emerging artists and filmmakers, they hope to continue to improve their craft, grow as a company, and reach people with their work.
Wong Fu was created on a saying that "If at the end of the day there's someone out there who has a better because of us, then we've succeeded." To this day, that motto still stands. As quoted, "We believe we can have a positive influence in this industry, and on our audience...and if we can do this, then we know we're doing something right."
